More Motorcycles on the Road than Ever
COLUMBUS (Andrew Michael) -- With temperatures finally warming back into the 60s, more and more motorcycles are hitting the road. Ohio has more motorcycles than 45 of the other states in the country, with nearly three-quarters of a million registered riders. Classic Cycle Parts in Hilliard said that they are seeing more women riders than ever. They said that their sales have been phenomenal. ABC 6/FOX 28 stopped by one of the rider education courses for Franklin County on Sunday. They are booked solid for the next two months. They said right now they are seeing about 40% females and 60% males coming through the classes. They said it is really important for first time riders or even riders who have not been on the road in a few months to go over the basics and make sure their bike is ready for the road. They also said that over 50% of motorcycle accidents are alcohol related. As our temperatures continue to warm, be sure to check twice as more motorcyclist will continue joining the road.
