What: As the Columbus Symphony Orchestra celebrates America, kids can enjoy free popcorn and pre-concert activities that include face painting, art projects, musical instrument testing and the Columbus Commons Family Fun Zone.
Doo Dah Parade
When: Tuesday, 1 p.m.
Where: Downtown Columbus
What: The Doo Dah Parade says it is a celebration of life, liberty and the pursuit of literary lunacy. The satirical party features a parade filled with costumes, light-hearted political debates, satire, live music and a post-parade block party.
Vegan Soul Jazz
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Long Street Studios, 300 East Long Street.
What: A vegan food and jazz music festival in downtown Columbus.
Firecracker Baseball Tournament
Where: Ridgeview Middle School
What: Teams will participate in the North Columbus Sports' 8th Annual Firecracker Baseball Tournament to raise money to grant a wish for Gage, this year's honorary wish kid, whose wish is go to Lego Land Florida Resort and Waterpark with his family.
New Belgium's Tour de Fat
When: Saturday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Express Live
What: A music and craft beer festival hosted by the Fat Tire beer brand. All proceeds go to local nonprofits.
Columbus Metropolitan Library Summer Reading Club Irish Dance
When: Saturday, 11 a.m. to Noon
Where: Dublin library branch, 75 N. High Street.
What: Trained Irish dancers will hold a demonstration for dancers of all ages, including costumes and facts about the dances.
