WINDSOR, Maine (WGME) – A Maine state trooper and his wife helped save a puppy that was hit by a car in Windsor.

Lt. Aaron Hayden was walking with his wife on Tyler Road in Windsor when they saw an 8-month-old puppy named Emma get hit by a passing car.

The family who owned the dog could not afford to go to the vet, so Hayden took the dog to the Windsor Veterinary Clinic.
