Addiction recovery center searched by multiple federal agencies
WHITEHALL, Ohio —
Agents from the FBI, IRS, and DEA showed up at a recovery center in Whitehall Wednesday morning to search the business.
Investigators surrounded Braking Point Recovery Center on East Broad Street. The investigation also involves Health and Human Services, the Ohio Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, and the Ohio Pharmacy Board, according to authorities. The search warrant was sealed by a federal judge.
An IRS spokesperson also confirmed investigators are searching another Braking Point Recovery Center location in Austintown, near Youngstown.
They say this is an ongoing joint investigation.
