AEP says parts of Grove City could be without power for 24-36 hours

Grove City's Public Information Officer Donald Walters estimates that 3800 residents will be without power for 24-36 hours.

The city is setting up a shelter at Evans Senior Center located at 4330 Dudley Ave.

If you need a ride to the shelter, you can call 614-277-1859. The city suggests for residents to bring medications with you and no pets are allowed.

The city also recommends checking on neighbors who may not have social media.

Crews are warning residents to beware of flooded streets and standing water, as well as any potential downed lines that cannot be seen in the dark.

Extra police officers have been called in to help.Right now, there are currently 16 Grove City Police Officers as well as three supervisors.

The city has set up a command center at City Hall. Right now the mayor, police chief, and emergency management crew members are there.

Updates will be posted on the Grove City Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as the city's website GroveCityOhio.gov.
