Bomb Squad called out after grenade found during search, situation contained
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) —
Columbus Fire Bomb Squad responded to a report of a grenade at a home near John Glenn International Airport Wednesday morning.
The grenade was found when DEA executed a search warrant of a home in the 600 block of Krumm Avenue on the east side.
While searching, an agent discovered an unexploded grenade in one of the vehicles on the property.
Firefighters and bomb experts were called to the scene. Bomb squad then took the grenade away without incident per police. No evacuations were issued.
No arrests were made, but DEA did seize drug paraphernalia and weapons.
