Brother and sister meet for first time after 57 years apart
FLORENCE, Ky. (WKRC) - After decades of living apart, a brother and sister finally meet.
Tim Gettelfinger was adopted as a toddler in 1960 and grew up in Villa Hills. He didn't even know he had an older sister until December. His sister had ended up with a family in Baltimore.
After a long 57 years apart, Pam Johnson came to the Tri-State this weekend to finally meet her brother. Understandably, their first meeting in person was a mix of emotions for both of them.
"I was nervous, actually, excited, all at the same time," said Johnson about meeting Gettelfinger for the first time.
"Not believing she's here. It's true. It's real," said Gettelfinger.
"Yeah, we were both like, you're real. You are a person," Johnson joked.
Gettelfinger's family hosted a picnic Sunday at their home in Florence to welcome Johnson to their family. Gettelfinger's adopted mom was there along with his kids.
