Central Ohio handbag company sending thousands of relief kits to Texas
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) —
While relief efforts are underway in Texas, a central Ohio company is also stepping up to help Hurricane Harvey victims.
Thirty-One is a handbag company based out of Easton. A large portion of the organization is grounded in philanthropy.
The company empowers women with help and hope worldwide.
With help from hundreds of sales consultants, Thirty-One made thousands of relief kits last month for girls and women who need them.
Those same relief kits are now going South Central Texas where there is a great need for hygiene products.
Thirty-One provided the bags and World Vision provided the products that are inside.
"World Vision actually reached out to us last Saturday and said this is getting very serious and we need kits, " said Wendy Bradshaw, the Executive Director of Community Affairs and Philanthropy for Thirty-One.
There will be 2,500 relief kits sent to help women in Texas. The kits are packed with various hygiene products and encouraging note cards.
