City of Logan under 'boil alert' after water main break
The city of Logan was placed under a "boil alert" after a water main break Wednesday night.
According to Hocking County EMS, Mayor Fraunfelter said the break was in the same line that broke last summer, but in a different spot.
The mayor said crews from Columbus were working to fix the issue since 4 p.m. Wednesday. Special equipment was expected to be sent out to assist.
"The city has joined a group called Ohio Warn which helps each other out when they have equipment smaller cities and villages do not have," said Fraunfelter in a statement. "The men are working very hard at getting this situation handled. Please be patient with these two crews there is a lot of knowledge and know how."
The mayor said the situation was "all hands on deck."
The "boil alert" was expected to last through Friday. The mayor recommended stocking up on bottled water for drinking.
