Deadly south side shooting not random, police say
Columbus Police homicide detectives were searching for a person of interest in a deadly shooting on the south side early Thursday morning.
The 40-year-old man shot to death at 935 Higbee Drive South knew the person who killed him, Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
Investigators have not released the names of the victim nor person of interest.
A woman called 911 at 1:21 a.m. from a neighbor's house, saying her husband had been shot, dispatchers said.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at 1:33 a.m.
Detectives said the shooting wasn't random, but haven't elaborated on a motive.
The shooting marked the 101st homicide in Columbus in 2017.
