Good Samaritan helps elderly robbery victim in northeast Columbus
Tammie Blair has always been brought up to do the right thing and to help others.
So on Wednesday when she saw an elderly man being robbed at the PNC ATM on Cleveland Avenue, she couldn't look away.
"I couldn't believe what I was seeing," Blair said.
Blair was in her car when she witnessed the attack. As soon as she saw it, she started laying on the horn.
"I was trying to get everyone's attention," she said.
The alleged robber, Sherria Cumberland, then took off and Blair and another Good Samaritan started to follow the woman.
"I even drove down a one-way street to keep up with her," Blair said.
Blair wasn't giving up. She even got out of her car and gave chase before police arrived.
Now Cumberland is in jail charged with robbery.
The 87-year-old victim is recovering after the attack and is going to be okay.
Blair said she believes in Karma.
"I think we should all get involved and help when we can. You never know when you'll need the help," she said.
