Dublin officials said after West Nile Virus was detected in the Dublin Central mosquito trap, the area between Brand Rd and Post Rd was scheduled to be sprayed Monday.

Officials said the spraying was scheduled to begin around 9:15 Monday night, and it should take a few hours.

Franklin County Public Health regularly tests mosquito traps around the county as part of the Integrated Mosquito Control and Management Program.

Dublin officials recommended the following tips to protect your family from West Nile Virus:

  • Wear insect repellent containing DEET (follow package directions)
  • Limit outdoor activity at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active
  • Eliminate all standing water around your home (mosquitoes breed in water and it doesn’t take much)
