Multiple injuries after condo explosion in northeast Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) —
Columbia Gas and Columbus Fire officials were expected to return to the scene of a condo explosion on the northeast side Monday morning.
Investigators haven't determine the cause of the blast that injured two adults and a teenager Sunday night at the at the New Albany Village Condominiums off E Dublin-Granville Rd.
No serious injuries were reported.
The force was so great, it busted windows, buckled the garage door, and knocked doors off their frames, according to investigators.
Columbia Gas of Ohio said a check of lines and meters showed no signs of any problems and no determination had been made as to whether natural gas was involved.
"This is a quiet neighborhood, this is totally out of the blue" said Luke Bauman who lives near where the explosion happened.
Bauman said the explosion happened in a home that a family had moved into a week ago.
Inspectors spent Sunday evening checking nearby units for possible additional structural damage.
Columbia Gas of Ohio said as an extra precaution, they planned to inspect all lines throughout the condo community.
