New Albany business owner condemns racist flyer that features his establishment
NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- The owner of a New Albany business says racist fliers featuring his business did not come from his establishment.
The fliers include a picture of black men and a message included with a slur that African-Americans are not welcome at Average Joe’s Pub in New Albany.
"We're not going to allow hate to be spread in our name,” said Paul Blackwell, co-owner of Average Joe’s Pub.
Blackwell said most of the day people have been calling the establishment asking about the flier.
"I just let them know that it's false information. Someone is spreading hate in our name and we don't like it and it's not fair to a lot of people,” said Blackwell.
Blackwell said his business is open to all. He added Columbus Police have been contacted to look into fliers.
