The new Tanger Outlets Columbus is set to open June 24th. Now, stores at the mall are looking to hire hundreds of workers.
The mall held a job fair at Columbus State Community College Delaware campus saying they want to hire more than 900 employees. Employers from more than 75 stores are looking for full and part-time team members.
Among the job-seekers was Brooke Anderson of Centerburg. She said previously she had to go to the Polaris area to find work and appreciates that the outlets will be closer to her home. Anderson is a student and is looking for some extra money...
"I have an internship this summer, that's unpaid, so just trying to supplement and have some extra money coming in," she said. Anderson said she got a job offer from The Gap today.
Elizabeth Sullivan of Dublin is an optician. But she is looking for a part time job make a little extra money as well. Out of 63 employers, Sullivan had her eye on just one, Ann Taylor, a company for which she has worked twice. Sullivan thinks she impressed recruiters today.
"Well, you know, they can't give you any promises, but I already had an interview," she said.
