Columbus Crew SC is taking on Toronto FC in the second game of the Eastern Conference Finals Wednesday.

While fans are preparing to head north to Canada, there was yet another twist in the effort to keep the team in Columbus.

A big part of the discussion about Crew SC's future has involved talks of a new stadium downtown. The Columbus Dispatch reported that Schottenstein Real Estate Group talked with team owners about putting a new stadium in the Arena District, an area the group was looking to develop. The Dispatch reported access concerns and traffic issues were among the reason the development plan was scrapped.

There were also concerns whether or not a stadium would actually fit on the site.

Crew SC owner Anthony Precourt is considering a move to Austin, Texas. He's adamant about having a downtown stadium.

The uncertainty of the team's future hangs over fans as they cheer the team on in the playoffs.

"I love the crew because it’s my team. It’s in my city. And that’s pretty much pretty much it. This is ours," said Crew SC fan Brent Miller.

Young fan Donovan Moore said he's remaining hopeful on the team's future in Ohio.

He said, "We’re going to have a great time. We’re going to get into Canada. We’re going to get to the stadium and we’re going to win."

ABC 6/FOX 28 will continue to follow the latest.
