ODOT's job is far from over
Though the snow and ice have moved through central Ohio, ODOT district 6 officials said road crews are far from finished.
More than 200 drivers that canvass the eight counties in district 6 will be on roads and interstates throughout the weekend making sure they're clear of ice, and any potential snow that may have drifted.
At the district 6 salt barn Saturday afternoon, a steady stream of snow plow operators lined up to fill up their snow plow trucks with 12-tons of salt.
Some added a beet juice to their salt, which helped to add an extra layer of protection on central Ohio roadways.
Spokespersons said snow plow drivers will continue to work 12-hour shifts into Sunday.
ODOT officials said the district had just over 43 thousand tons of salt in their reserves before they'd have to order more to fight future snow storms.
