Ohio's senators responded to Trump's transgender military ban.

Senator Sherrod Brown shared his support for all who serve in the military.

“I have deep respect and gratitude for anyone who volunteers to serve in our military," said Brown in a statement. "We should not turn away anyone who is willing and able to serve this country and help keep America safe.”

Ohio Senator Rob Portman was asked for comment.

His office responded by saying Portman wanted to review all of the details before making a statement.

"The Secretary of Defense is conducting a study of this policy and Rob believes we should wait until that is complete before making any decisions," said Emily Benavides, spokesperson for Portman
