Woman murdered in Franklinton overnight Monday

A woman is dead after she was murdered in Franklinton overnight, now investigators are searching for a suspect and motive.

Officers were called to the 100 block of North Central Avenue near Merrimac Avenue at 1:12 am, a dispatcher said.

A passerby told dispatchers someone exited the house and asked for help calling police because a person was dead.

Officers found 41-year-old Dannielle Annette Rowe Sgt. Jeff Strayer said. Police said she suffered significant trauma, but the cause of death had yet to be determined. She was pronounced dead at 1:36 a,m.

No suspects or motives were known as of late Monday morning.

Monday afternoon, family members said Rowe moved into the home just a few weeks ago.

"She was there when all my kids was born, I have nieces very hurt about the situation," said sister Tonya Castel.

This was the 42nd murder in Columbus this year.
