Police: Legs found in south Columbus waste facility came from northwest side dumpster

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- Columbus police are asking for the public's help to identify the human remains discovered at a south Columbus waste facility on Tuesday.

At a news conference on Friday, officials said the two human legs that were found in separate trash bags at Local Waste Services recycling facility came from dumpster in northwest Columbus. Investigators determined the remains were picked up sometime between March 21 and March 28.

Authorities also revealed a boot that was on one of the victim's feet.

Sgt. Stan Latta said the brand is Just Fab and is a size 10. Just Fab is a subscription-based company that delivers shoes on a monthly basis. The model appears to be the "Teigarhorn."

Investigators have yet to identify the gender or race. They declined to comment on the state of the victim's decomposition.

DNA has been sent in for tests, but detectives have yet to get results from the the coroner's office.
