Residents at scene of fatal police shootings react
WESTERVILLE, Ohio —
Residents at a Westerville townhouse community express shock and disbelief over the fatal shooting of two Westerville Police officers Saturday.
Officers Anthony Morelli and Eric Joering were fatally shot Saturday morning while responding to a 911 hang-up call from a residence in the community. Authorities said both officers were fired upon as soon as they arrived.
Susan Gray who lives in the community was shaken by news of the fatal killing where she lives.
"You hear about it. But here it is right in the safe little town we live in,” said Gray.
John Kincaid also lives in the community and describes it as quiet. He said he’ll be thinking of the people the officers left behind.
"Their families. That's what I think about. I think their families right now,” said Kincaid.
