Six On Your Side: Customers get full refund after hhgregg doesn't acknowledge warranty
NEWARK, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- A day after calling "Six On Your Side," a Newark couple got a full refund for their warranty after they said bankrupted hhgregg wouldn't offer it to them.
Michelle and Jim Edwards reached out to "Six On Your Side" when their resolution for a broken TV purchased with a five-year warranty wasn't going anywhere.
After purchasing a 55-inch TV a couple years ago, the couple said they're television wouldn't turn on right around the time the appliance retailer declared bankruptcy. When they contacted hhgregg about being reimbursed, the company was offering only $389 of the $499 value of their purchase, even with their $120 warranty.
The couple then called "Six On Your Side," who contacted the third party handling the warranties: Warrantech.
Within a day, the Edwards' received a phone call from Warrantech that they'd receive the remaining $110 owed to them.
Warrantech, who told ABC 6/FOX 28 they'd fully compensate any hhgregg purchase with a warranty, said anyone with with such a warranty should contact them.
