Police departments and government officials react to Westerville shooting
Two Westerville police officers were killed in an officer-involved shooting.
The death of the officers prompted a lot of social media interaction from police departments and government officials across the country.
The Governor of Ohio, John Kasich, added his sympathies. Kasich is a native of Westerville, Ohio.
Westerville police said one officer died at the scene and another officer died the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.
Grove City Police, Ohio State Emergency Management, and Cincinnati Police were just a few of the government agencies sending out their condolences to the fallen officers.
The Republican candidate for governor, Mike DeWine, also sent out his condolences.
Deputy Chief Woods from the Columbus Division of Police and the Franklin County Sheriff also added to the conversation.
According to police, the Westerville Emergency Dispatch 911 center as a hangup. When an officer responded to Cross Wind Drive shots were fired at the officers.
