Person killed in crash involving semi on US-23 in Delaware County
DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- Authorities are investigating a deadly crash involving a semi in Delaware County.
The State Highway Patrol says US-23 south near State Route 315 is closed after a collision between a semi and another vehicle. The accident was reported just after 5:30 p.m.
According a news release, David M. Zmuda, a 29-year-old from Dublin, was driving a black 2016 Ford Mustang northbound on US 23 was making a left turn on State Route 315 when he was struck on the passenger side by a black 2003 Peterbilt 379 semi tractor/trailer headed southbound on US 23 driven by 57-year-old Brad E. Martin of Pataskala.
Zmuda was pronounced dead at the scene. Martin refused treatment, troopers said.
Both were wearing their seat belts. Alcohol or drug use is not suspected by either driver.
The road was shut down for more than three hours.
