Woman killed in one vehicle crash near Lancaster
GREENFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio —
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed one person Saturday night.
According to a press release from the Fairfield County Sheriffs Office, they received a call at 8:44 p.m. on report of a one vehicle crash involving a utility pole on State Route 158.
When troopers arrived they found a silver and black 1998 Ford Mustang off the right side of the roadway with heavy damage up against a utility pole. There were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Damien Butcher, 20 , of Cleveland, Ohio was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. He was transported to Fairfield Medical Center and then later transported to OSU Wexner where he is listed in stable condition.
Butcher's front passenger, Melissa Seel, 37, of Lancaster, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fairfield County Coroner's Office.
Officials said Seel was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
There was also a juvenile inside of the vehicle and was transported to Fairfield Medical Center before being transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital. Their condition is unknown.
