Woman sentenced after swapping urine samples
BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTOV) - Kiana Wallace learned her sentence for swapping urine samples to pass a drug test on Monday morning in Belmont County Common Pleas Court.
Wallace first apologized to the court for her actions before Judge Frank Fregiato sentenced her to 1 1/2 years in prison.
The judge told Wallace that she will not make a mockery of the drug and alcohol testing system.
"Let me get this straight,” Fregiato said. “To avoid the positive test with your own urine, you used someone else's urine which turned out to be positive also. That's bizarre."
Wallace apologized to the court.
Cleveland native Jerry Fleming also appeared.
Fleming was arrested earlier this month at a home in Martins Ferry for failing to appear on two counts of drug trafficking.
A trial date was set for June 5.
He remains in jail on a $2,500 bond.
