Arby's suffers data breach, over 350,000 accounts may be affected
Arby’s is investigating a data breach that may have affected hundreds of thousands of customers, the company said.
More than 355,000 credit and debit cards may have been compromised in the same kind of malware attack that earlier victmized Target and Home Depot. The malware, which Arby's said has been eradicated, allows hackers to steal data as the card is swiped at the cash register.
Arby's said the breach occurred between October 25 and January 19.
Only company-owned restaurants, not franchises.
Arby's advised customers to keep a close eye on the credit and debit card statements for unauthorized activity.
