Coast Guards seize 16 tons of cocaine
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSYX/WTTE) —
The Coast Guard seized 16 tons of cocaine in international waters.
Crews in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, used a crane to top offload wrapped bales of the drug worth around $420 million.
The Coast Guard and Canadian ships seized the drugs in 17 separate smuggling raids.
More than 30 suspected drug smugglers were arrested during the seizure and have been sent to various jurisdictions for prosecution.
