Florida couple passed out in car with two kids in backseat

SARASOTA, Fla. (WSYX/WTTE) -- A Sarasota couple is in custody after being caught on camera passed out in their SUV with two young children in the backseat.

William Ballard and Delaney Crissinger are being held at Sarasota County Jail on drug and child neglect charges, WFLA reports.

Police said they found meth and heroin ready for sale along with a syringe filled with a brown liquid right next to the bottle of baby formula.

As Ballard was unconscious behind the wheel and Crissinger on the passenger side, the two girls were in the backseat: and 18-month-old and five-month-old.

Security camera footage showed the couple had pulled into the gas station parking lot hours earlier.

The images were similar to what happened with an Ohio couple and a four-year-old in September.

Ballard told deputies he recently lost his job and was selling drugs for money. He admitted to using meth before pulling into the gas station.

The children are with relatives and expected to be okay.
