Trump brand items pulled from Sears, Kmart stores

Sears Holdings, the company that owns Sears and Kmart stores, reportedly removed Trump-branded items from its website.

A company spokesman told Reuters the move was part of a plan to focus on its most profitable items.

The items pulled from the website were from the Trump Home line of furnishings. The spokesman said they weren't carried in its stores, but can still be found through third-party vendors.

Another spokesman distanced the company from any political controversy, saying it was part of a larger-scale reduction that included a small portion of Trump-brand products.

The company said it prefers to focus on business and "leave the politics to others."

This comes after Ivanka Trump's clothing and accessories label was removed from Nordstrom "for performance," not politics.

Neiman Marcus also removed her brand landing page from its website, Belk pulled the her products from its website, and TJX Companies (owners of TJ Maxx and Marshall's) said it told workers not to highlight her brand in stores, CNN Money reports.
