SAN ANTONIO, Fla. (WSYX/WTTE) – Five students are okay after they were inside a bus struck by a semi in Florida, WFLA reports.

The accident happened when a semi driven by David Dunlop II of Stetson, Maine, drove around a car at an intersection, then slammed into the side of the a Pasco County School District bus Tuesday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The school district is approximately 30 miles north of Tampa.

The driver was uninjured. The driver's assistant was treated after the crash and released.

The driver’s father, David Dunlop, told WFLA that "it was just an accident." The reason his son chose to drive around the car in front of him was that the car in front of his son sat through several light cycles and never moved.
