Americans predicted to spend nearly $20 billion on Valentine's Day
COLUMBUS, Ohio —
The National Retail Federation projects that Americans will spend quite a bit of money on Valentine's Day, to show their love for one another.
According to estimates by the National Retail Federation, more than half of Americans will celebrate the day and spend nearly $20 billion on Valentine's Day cards, flowers, gifts, and apparel.
CNN says 4.7 of that will be spent on jewelry.
On average, consumers will spend roughly $144 per person, which is up from $142 last year, according to CNN.
With only $5.50 spent on Valentine's gifts for pets.
