Franklin Co. Sheriff: Teen may have been murdered during drug deal robbery


FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- An autopsy is planned Tuesday for a West High School student, who was shot to death in the stairwell of an apartment complex near West Broad Street on Sunday.

"There was blood and all this stuff," said Muhadin Mohamed, who was there when Abdikadir Abdikadir, 18, was shot moments after getting our of Mohamed's car.

Franklin County Sheriff detectives are investigating if Abdikadir was shot while he was being robbed during a drug deal.

Mohamed, who told ABC 6/FOX 28 he was Abdikadir's cousin, said the teen asked him to drive to an apartment complex on Viotis Drive because he was meeting someone who owed him money.

"The only thing he told me was he had been trying to get $40," said Mohamed.

When ABC6 /FOX28 Reporter Steve Levine asked Mohamed if he was knew what the money was for, Mohamed said he did not .

Authorities say Abdikadir had gone to the apartment to make a drug deal with two men when the teen was shot by one of the men.

Witnesses say they watched two men run from the scene moments after the shooting. Anyone with information about the murder is asked to call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 614-525-3351.
