Carol A. Ventresca, PhD, Executive Director at Employment for Seniors
Dr. Ventresca is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a PhD in Sociology and Business, Master’s in Sociology and a Bachelor’s in Sociology and Psychology from Otterbein University.
During her career with the State of Ohio and The Ohio State University, Carol held a variety of positions, focusing on employment issues, educational programs for adults, and the academic and career advising of students, ranging in age from 18 to 80. She directed various programs in the Office of Continuing Education at Ohio State, concentrating on workforce development, increasing educational opportunities for non-traditional students, and promotion of lifelong learning in Franklin County. Carol also served on the administrative staff of the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, and provided assistance in human resources development and training for Liqui-Box Corporation.
Advocacy for mature job seekers is her primary role as Executive Director of Employment For Seniors. Increasing employers’ awareness of this highly skilled and experienced talent pool in our community is critical to the success and growth of Ohio’s economic future.
Chris is a life-long entrepreneur, and the founder of Become a Better Networker. For most of his life, Chris suffered from extreme shyness, introversion, and fear of social settings. Now that he has overcome those challenges, Chris feels called to help people overcome their own challenges to become a better networker, a better connector, and become the person they were meant to be! He is the Author of the upcoming book titled, "Become a Better Networker: Confident, Competent, and Connected." Which will be released Summer 2018.
James Bishop, Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley
Mr. Bishop is a graduate of The Ohio State University Max M. Fisher College of Business, BS, Business Administration/Computer Science, and Cornell University Industrial Engineering/Computer Software Design. He has also served as Director of Business Development/Franchise Sales at Weichert Realtors, Director of Business Development/Franchise Sales at Realogy Corporation/Cendant Corporation, President/CEO of Personal Communications representing the Cellular One now Verizon brand, and Retail Controller/Special Projects at Safelite Auto Glass. He also serves as Board Chairman of Career Transition Institute, Board Member of Networking Leaders Alliance, and volunteers with the Columbus Rotary Leadership Development/Vocational Service.
Ted Fireman, Owner of FranNet Central Ohio
Ted spent 20+ years in corporate America and today is achieving his dreams of financial security and freedom through franchise ownership. Ted has owned three franchises and three independent businesses. He served as is adjunct faculty at Tulane University where he developed and taught a course on franchising. Ted has provided dozens of seminars on franchise ownership in cooperation with the SBA, SCORE, Small Business Development Centers, and area colleges and universities.
