Jason and Ellie Day giving back through Brighter Days Foundation
GALENA -- The PGA's Jason Day has teamed with wife Ellie to make a significant impact on those who need a helping hand in Central Ohio.
The Day's Brighter Days Foundation staged their 3rd annual golf outing Monday at the Double Eagle Golf Club in Galena to benefit the Stowe Mission on Parsons Avenue.
"They do so much," Ellie Day told ABC-6. "They have a soup kitchen, medical and eye clinic, tutoring and on its goes. They do great work."
Jason Day invited an interesting blend of celebrities to the golf course including Kevin Sorbo, who played Hercules among his many TV works. He ran into Day at the season-opening PGA event in Hawaii. "He did like a triple take and said my goodness that's Kevin Sorbo and then said you have to come to my golf tournament So that's how we met." Former Buckeyes Jake Ballard and A.J. Hawk also played in the outing.
The Brighter Days Foundation has raised over $700,000 in its first two years.
