Beyond the Game: Tortorella Family Foundation sponsors pet wellness clinic
COLUMBUS -- Christine and John Tortorella have giant hearts for animal advocasy.
The Tortorella Family Foundation sponsored a free pet wellness clinic on Broad St Sunday. The clinic treated 120 animals from low income families for spay and neuter, vaccinations and microchipping.
"It's overwhelming, it's emotional and great to see the community be a part of this," Christine Tortorella told ABC-6. The wife of the Blue Jackets head coach is the executive director of the family foundation and has jumped in with both feet since 2012 when it comes to pet wellness and advocasy for animals. John Tortorella told ABC-6 the family is currently fostering four dogs and two horses at their country home.
Stacie Morris is the President of Save Ohio Pets and was thrilled with the Tortorella's financial support and said so many more animals need to be treated. Bears Angels and Rascal's also lent their support to the one-day clinc at the Ohio Health Center.
