Buckeye Basketball: Dan Dakich not shy about Bucks potential and son Andrew backs him
COLUMBUS -- Andrew Dakich has been quite a find for Ohio State basketball.
The graduate transfer from Michigan filled a big need for an experienced player with backcourt skill and his surprisingy shooting touch came along for the ride. Also in tow, his famous father Dan. The elder Dakich played basketball at Indiana, was head coach at Bowling Green and is a college basketball analyst for ESPN.
Dan says he's a nervous wreck when watching his son which he does as often as he can like last week's game against Penn State. "I don't yell and scream," says the former division one head coach, "but my wife asked me the other night do you realize you just coached an entire game."
The broadcaster from the Hoosier state also created a stir when, on Andrew's information, Dan picked the Buckeyes to reach the Final 4, the Final 4.
"I know some people have called him nuts," Andrew said. "But how many announcers really pick all of them right ?"
Dan Dakich will call the Indiana game for ESPN Tuesday night at Value City Arena while Andrew Dakich will be in the lineup for the 17th ranked Buckeyes.
