Matta calls on Will Ferrell connection to lighten the mood around the Schott
COLUMBUS -- Thad Matta's 13th Buckeye basketball team has been an up and down roller coaster ride for players and certainly Ohio State fans.
The Buckeyes are 14-10, just 4-7 in the Big 10, as they prepare to host Rutgers Wednesday night.
To lighten the mood around the Schott, Matta had a sign that reads "Everybody loves Everybody" mounted in the basketball office.
That sign is right out of the movie, "Semi Pro" starring comedian Will Ferrell who plays a owner/player/coach Jackie Moon trying to inspire his team.
Matta said one of his former players, Matt Sylvester, played Ferrell's stunt double in the movie and got an autographed picture from Ferrell for the real head coach.
"Best autographed picture I've ever received," Matta told reporters.
