LeVeon Bell holding out of Steelers camp
COLUMBUS (WSYX/WTTE) —
Groveport native LeVeon Bell did not show up to the start of Steelers training camp Thursday.
NFL.com reports the hold out was expected, as Bell is looking for a long-term contract and has not yet signed his one-year franchise tender for $12.1 million.
Many Steelers, including All Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown, have been encouraging Bell to come to camp.
A year ago, Bell was the Steelers' leading rusher and trailed only Brown in receiving yards. NFL.com says Bell is looking to get paid like the top running back and No. 2 receiver on the team. Brown is playing on a 5-year, $72 million contract.
