The Football Fever: Early indication is Buckeye seniors will play in Cotton Bowl
COLUMBUS -- Playing in the postseason bowl game is no longer a foregone conclusion for departing and draft-eligible seniors.
Schools all over the country have had players sit out to protect their draft status from injury, including LSU running back Leonard Fournette last season.
Head Coach Urban Meyer said players would be handled on a case by case basis. "I hope not," said Meyer. "I think our guys want to find a way to win this ball game."
Ohio State will play Southern Cal in the Cotton Bowl Dec. 29th at 8:30 in Texas Stadium in Arlington where the Buckeyes won the National Championship against Oregon in 2014.
"I think the bond and brotherhood we have in our locker room I would be shocked (sitting out bowl game)," said departing senior quarterback J.T. Barrett.
Ohio State has about 15 players who might be considered NFL draft prospects.
