Ben Garbarek is no stranger to Ohio, and is excited to be reporting in Columbus.
Ben is a multi-media journalist for ABC 6/FOX 28. He got his start working in Owensboro, KY, working out of a bureau for a station in nearby Evansville, IN. That's where he learned to be flexible and self-sufficient, shooting his own video and editing his own stories. Ben moved from there to Richmond, VA. His work has been featured on the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Fox News, and MSNBC.
Ben is thrilled to be back in Ohio. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford with degrees in journalism and political science. He also has plenty of ties to Columbus -- his mom graduated from Hilliard High School, his grandfather taught at Ohio State, and his parents were married in Worthington.
Ben was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. While not at work, he's rooting for the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs and Blackhawks. He's an avid runner, accomplished singer, and tennis player.
Fun fact: Ben has a twin sister (and no, they're not identical).
