Man Arrested for Setting Woman on Fire

GAHANNA (Kate Murphy/Csaba Sukosd) -- A man who was hospitalized with burns over the weekend is accused of setting a woman on fire.

Michael Slager was arrested for aggravated arson and felonious assault on Monday.{}

Investigators claim he poured an accelerant, suspected to be gasoline, on the woman and then{}set her on fire in the rear of a Speedway gas station on Agler Road. Moments later strangers ran to help the pair after seeing flames pop up without warning. Both were transported to Wexner Medical Center, where the woman remains in critical condition.

Police have yet to reveal her identity.
