Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser are working together to develop a revival of their hit 1990s sitcom "Mad About You."

Reports suggested producers at Sony Television were in informal talks with the stars to launch a reboot of the show last year, almost two decades after it went off air. Sources told TV Line the comedy series would be brought back for a limited run, with Reiser and Hunt's married New Yorker characters, Jamie and Paul Buchman, dealing with their daughter heading off to college.

On Thursday, Hunt confirmed she and Reiser are working to get the potential revival right, but it isn't in development yet.

"It's not for sure yet," she told "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." "I will say that Paul Reiser is in my kitchen a good amount because we're talking about how to make it and not wreck it, because we're proud of what we did."

"I hope (we can do it)," she added. "It would be fun."

"Mad About You" ran for seven seasons until 1999, with the series' finale featuring a flash forward 22 years into the future to show fans how life turned out for the Buchmans.

"Our thinking at the time was, 'Let's make sure we never get tempted to come back -- let's tell them what happens,'" Reiser previously told People magazine of their reasons for the ending.

However, he admitted he would be interested in reprising his role if there was public interest.

"If we can find the story to tell, and anybody's interested, I'd be open to it," he continued. "To me, it's interesting when I see my kids are growing and leaving the house ... It's like that moment when you get married. It's like we're in a new world that we don't know the rules of."
