Freddy's employee's act of kindness encourages cancer patient to 'keep fighting'
A woman's post about a cancer patient's experience at a Freddy's drive-thru is circulating on Facebook and bringing tears and smiles to many.
On Friday, Susan Nunan was going through the drive-thru at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers at The Rim. Nunan is currently fighting cancer, so while in her car, she decided to take her wig off as a way to cool down from this weekend's extreme heat. That's when an employee noticed her.
When Nunan received her food, she noticed that something was written on the receipt.
"Keep Fighting!," it read.
Nunan's friend posted the note to the restaurant's Facebook page, saying it brought her to tears. The employee was later identified as 21-year-old Fred De’Shaun Daniels.
“His thoughtfulness caught me by surprise. I posted what he did because I want people to realize how many good kids there are out there," Nunan told SBG San Antonio.
Now, the post on the restaurant's page has been shared more than 100 times.
“That’s really something big for me to hear that I impacted something like this, whatever reason I was put in her life for I’m thankful," Daniels told SBG San Antonio.
The two met again today at the same location. Daniels said the meeting "went amazing" and that "she's an amazing woman."
