Returning soldier gets flag-filled welcome home at Myrtle Beach airport
Family and friends welcomed home Army Specialist Sean Odom.
Odom, of Darlington, says he took a deep breath before getting on the escalator, but couldn't hold back the emotions when he saw everyone waiting for him.
He flew into the Myrtle Beach Airport after spending 9 months in Afghanistan.
He says he's been away from home for almost a year, when you add in the time he spent training, and seeing his family again on Tuesday felt really good.
"On the way...a few other people were going down the escalators as well and they started noticing everything, and seeing all of them just lined up here and so many people more to support.. it means a lot," he said.
His son Carson says he just wants to keep giving his dad hugs now that he's home.
