COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — As with other golfing tournaments during the coronavirus pandemic, the Korn Ferry Tour Finals and charity event will continue without fans this year.
The Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, played at The Ohio State University Golf Club, is a golf tournament held as part of the Korn Ferry Tour. It is part of a path for golfers to earn PGA TOUR membership.
The 14th installment of the official Korn Ferry Tour Finals event is scheduled as of the time of writing for August 20 - 23 and will be held without fans.
“We are looking forward to hosting the 2020 tournament and carrying on its philanthropic mission,” said John Carter, President & Chief Operating Officer of Nationwide Financial. “While it will look a bit different this year, the event’s overall commitment to Nationwide Children’s and charitable causes in the community will remain as strong as ever.”
Last year’s tournament raised over $2.3 million for pediatric cancer research and treatment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Tournament organizers say the official Pro-Am tournament, to be held on August 19, will be staged as scheduled.
