Grove City experienced high winds during Tuesday's storms. The city says 450 homes and 20 power poles were damaged as a result of the powerful gusts from an EF1 tornado.

The southwestern Columbus suburb experienced some of the worst conditions during Tuesday's severe weather with most of that damage along Hoover Road.

Hundreds of homes were still without power Wednesday morning. Approximately 600 customers will remain without power until Sunday, according to an AEP Ohio official. Crews will first have to clean up the damage first, then install steel poles, which is a recent and more durable innovation, the official said.

The poles were reportedly twisted before they snapped leaving some of the worst damage the official had seen in his 37 years of work. Had it not been for underground work, more poles would've snapped.

Crews will be working 16-hour days until roughly midnight -- weather and conditions permitting.

The city set up a mobile command center to provided building inspectors and site surveyors a home base during inspections.

ABC 6/FOX 28 will continue to follow the impact of Tuesday's storms in Grove City.
