After losing mother to cancer, Merion Village woman turns loss into something inspiring
Kelly Vaughn was a professional horse trainer.
Music was a hobby.
All that changed in 2010, when she lost her mother to cancer.
"I was just really struggling with, 'How do I still feel the love that I have for her, and now she's not there?' It was just extremely difficult."
Vaughn turned her loss into lyrics. She started writing songs to cope, and now, has compiled them for an album, Life Goes On.
"It was just a way to heal my heart," Vaughn said.
Vaughn's album will be released this Sunday.
