COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — The attorney of the man accused of stabbing and killing a person in Upper Arlington says his client is innocent.
In court, Joe Landusky, attorney of 52-year-old Jeffery Lamar Smith, said this is a case of mistaken identity. Landusky believes surveillance caught Smith on camera in another part of town during the time of the murder.
The attorney added that Smith had no cuts or bruises on him.
Smith turned himself into police Monday evening. The incident was the first murder in Upper Arlington since 2010.
ABC 6/FOX 28 is working to obtain the surveillance video specified by Landusky.
