A South Columbus man is using his home surveillance video to warn neighbors about a trio of thieves preying in his community.

"The gall of them to do something like that," said Jimmy Hoffman, after crooks stole an expensive sump pump chained to his front porch.

"Amazed somebody would do something like that in broad daylight," said Hoffman.

Surveillance cameras captured three men jump out of a car in front of Hoffman's Kane Drive home Monday morning around 10:00 am in the Fairlane Mobile Home Park.

Within 90 seconds the men jump out of their dark sedan and use bolt cutters to steal the $1,000 equipment.

Hoffman contacted ABC 6/ FOX 28 and provided us the video of the thieves caught in the act, hoping someone will recognize the bad guys and call the police.

"So they can be stopped, so it doesn't happen again," said Hoffman. "I hope you are caught and off the streets."

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Columbus Police at 614-645-4545
